Managed FortiGate firewall for growing businesses
Your firewall is the front door to your network. Nexxo deploys Fortinet FortiGate firewalls sized to your office, keeps them patched and watches them around the clock, so your team can work and connect remotely without worrying about who else is getting in.
Request an assessmentA managed firewall that stays secure after installation
A managed firewall only protects you if someone keeps managing it. Many small offices still run on the box their internet provider left behind, or on a firewall that was installed once and never touched again. Firmware falls behind, old rules pile up, the guest Wi-Fi sits on the same network as the accounting server, and alerts go to an inbox nobody reads. Firewalls are a favourite target for attackers precisely because so many are left unpatched. Nexxo takes that work off your plate. We choose the right FortiGate for your office, configure it properly from day one, and then run it for you: firmware updates, security subscriptions, remote access for your staff, configuration backups, logs and 24/7 monitoring. When something needs to change, like a new employee, a new site or a new application, you call us and we handle it.
FortiGate next-generation firewalls
We size and install a FortiGate firewall that fits your office, your internet speed and your growth. It inspects traffic coming in and going out, blocks known threats and applies clear rules about what is allowed on your network.
FortiGuard threat intelligence
We activate and maintain FortiGuard threat-intelligence services on your firewall, including web filtering, intrusion prevention and malware protection. These subscriptions keep your FortiGate up to date against new threats, and we make sure they never quietly expire.
Secure remote access
Staff working from home or on the road connect through an encrypted VPN with FortiClient, protected by multifactor authentication. Where it fits your setup, we can also apply zero-trust access rules so people reach only the applications they need.
SD-WAN for multiple sites
If you have two internet connections or several offices, FortiGate’s built-in SD-WAN can switch traffic automatically when one link fails and prioritize calls and business applications. Fewer outages, and no one has to unplug and replug the modem.
Secure Wi-Fi and segmentation
With FortiSwitch and FortiAP, your wired and wireless network is managed from the firewall. We separate guest Wi-Fi, staff devices, phones and sensitive systems into their own segments (VLANs), so one infected laptop cannot reach everything.
Patching, backups and logs
We apply firmware updates on a planned schedule, back up your firewall configuration so it can be restored quickly, and keep logs and alerts that show what happened on your network. Changes are documented, tested and reversible.
Our 4-step managed firewall approach
Assess your network
We review your current router or firewall, your internet connections, your Wi-Fi, how staff work remotely and where sensitive data lives. You get a plain-language summary of the risks and what we recommend, with no obligation.
Design and size
We choose the FortiGate model and subscriptions that match your office size and traffic, then plan network segments, remote access and firewall rules. Everything is documented before anything is installed. You review and approve the plan before we order or change anything.
Deploy and migrate
We install and configure the firewall, move your connections over from the old equipment, and test with your team. Cutovers are scheduled to limit disruption, often outside business hours, with a rollback plan ready if needed.
Monitor and manage
From then on, our dedicated team monitors your firewall 24/7, applies updates, renews subscriptions, backs up the configuration and handles your change requests. You always have a single point of contact for your network security.
How a managed firewall supports your Law 25 obligations
Québec’s Law 25 requires businesses to protect the personal information they hold, keep a register of confidentiality incidents, and notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and affected people when an incident presents a risk of serious injury. You cannot document an incident you never saw. A properly managed FortiGate gives you the visibility and controls to detect suspicious activity, limit who can reach personal information, and show what happened if something goes wrong. It is one piece of your compliance, not the whole picture, and we work alongside your privacy officer.
- Logs and alertsFirewall logs and alerts help you spot, investigate and document security events for your confidentiality incident register.
- Network segmentationSeparating sensitive systems from guest Wi-Fi and general devices limits who and what can reach client and employee personal information.
- Secure remote accessEncrypted VPN with multifactor authentication protects staff who handle client data from home or while travelling.
- Documented changesEvery firewall change is recorded, which helps demonstrate the reasonable security measures Law 25 expects you to take.

Contact Us →What is a managed firewall, and why would a small business need one?
A managed firewall is a firewall that a provider installs and then operates for you over time: updates, rules, monitoring, subscriptions and troubleshooting. For a small business, the hard part is not buying the equipment but keeping it secure month after month. With a managed firewall, you get a dedicated team watching it 24/7 and handling changes, so security does not depend on someone in the office finding time to log in.
Why Fortinet FortiGate instead of the router from our internet provider?
The box your internet provider supplies is designed to get you online, not to protect a business. A FortiGate firewall adds traffic inspection, intrusion prevention, web filtering, secure remote access, network segmentation and detailed logs. It can also manage your switches and Wi-Fi access points from one place. In most setups, we keep the provider’s equipment as a simple modem and let the FortiGate do the security work.
What affects the cost of a managed Fortinet firewall?
The main factors are the FortiGate model, which depends on your number of users and internet speed, the FortiGuard subscriptions you need, the number of sites, whether you add FortiSwitch or FortiAP equipment, and the level of monitoring and support. Remote access needs and any SD-WAN setup also play a role. We start with an assessment so the proposal matches your actual network, without oversizing.
We already have a firewall. Can Nexxo take over its management?
Often, yes. We start by reviewing your existing firewall: its model, whether it is still supported by the vendor, its firmware level, its subscriptions and its rules. If it is a FortiGate in good shape, we can take over its management and clean up the configuration. If it is aging or no longer receiving updates, we will explain the options and plan a replacement with minimal downtime.
Do we need a firewall if we already use Microsoft 365 and antivirus?
Yes. Microsoft 365 security and antivirus protect your accounts and your computers, but the firewall protects your network itself: the connection between your office and the internet, your Wi-Fi, printers, phones and other devices that cannot run antivirus. These layers work together. A firewall can also block malicious sites and suspicious traffic before it ever reaches a computer.
How does a FortiGate firewall help with Québec’s Law 25?
Law 25 expects businesses to take reasonable security measures, keep a register of confidentiality incidents and report serious incidents. A managed FortiGate supports those obligations by limiting access to systems holding personal information, protecting remote access and keeping logs that help detect and document incidents. It does not make you compliant on its own, and it is not legal advice, but it is an important technical safeguard.
Will switching to a new firewall interrupt our business?
We plan the switch carefully to keep disruption short. Before the cutover, we document your current setup, prepare the new configuration and agree on a time with you, often in the evening or on a weekend. We test internet access, remote access, phones and key applications, and we keep a rollback plan ready. Most offices see little or no downtime during business hours.
What does Fortinet support from Nexxo include day to day?
You get a team that knows your network. We monitor your FortiGate 24/7, apply firmware updates, renew subscriptions, back up the configuration and respond to alerts. When you need something, like adding a remote user, opening access for a new application or setting up a new site, you contact our support team and we make the change, test it and document it.
