Backup and disaster recovery for your business, managed by Nexxo
Backups only matter on the day you need them. Nexxo deploys and manages Veeam for your servers, workstations and Microsoft 365, checks every job daily and tests your restores, so a ransomware attack, a dead server or a deleted folder stays a bad afternoon, not a lost week.
Request a backup assessmentManaged backup that is ready when you need it
Backup and disaster recovery often comes down to one uncomfortable question: when did someone last check that your backups actually work? In many SMBs, the answer is never. Jobs fail quietly for weeks, the only copy sits on a drive in the same room as the server, and Microsoft 365 data is assumed to be safe simply because it lives in the cloud. Ransomware groups know this, and they go after backups first. Nexxo takes that worry off your plate. We design a Veeam backup setup sized for your business, keep at least one copy that attackers cannot encrypt or delete, store another copy off-site, and watch every job daily. We also test restores on a schedule and write down exactly how your business gets back up and running, so business continuity is a plan, not a hope.
Server and VM backup
We deploy Veeam Backup & Replication to protect your physical servers and your Hyper-V or VMware virtual machines. Backups run on a schedule that matches how often your data changes, and can restore a full server, a single file or one application item.
Microsoft 365 backup
Microsoft keeps its service running, but protecting your data from deletion, mistakes and attacks is your responsibility. We use Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to back up Exchange Online mailboxes, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams, so a lost folder or a departed employee’s mailbox can be recovered.
Immutable backup copies
At least one copy of your backups is made immutable: for a set period, it cannot be changed, encrypted or deleted, not even with stolen administrator passwords. If ransomware hits your network, that copy is still there to restore from.
Off-site and cloud copies
A backup stored next to your server burns, floods or gets stolen with it. We send a copy of your backups to a separate, secure location, either a cloud repository or a second site, so a problem at your office never takes your data with it.
Automated restore verification
A backup that cannot be restored is not a backup. Using Veeam SureBackup, we regularly start up backed-up servers in an isolated environment and confirm they boot and respond, so problems surface during a test instead of during an emergency.
Daily job monitoring
Our team reviews your backup jobs every day. When a job fails, runs long or misses a machine, we get alerted and fix it, usually before you would ever have noticed. You also get clear reporting on what is protected.
Our 4-step Veeam backup and recovery approach
Assess what matters
We list your servers, workstations, Microsoft 365 data and key applications, then ask two plain questions: how much recent work could you afford to lose, and how long could you stay down? Those answers shape everything that follows.
Design and deploy
We build a Veeam setup that follows the 3-2-1-1-0 rule, choose where each copy is stored, set retention periods and encryption, and run the first full backups. Your team keeps working while we do it.
Document the recovery
We write a recovery plan for your business: what gets restored first, who calls whom, and where everything lives. Then we run a drill together so the plan has been tried before you ever need it for real.
Monitor and test
We check backup jobs daily, run automated restore verification, review the plan as your business changes and repeat recovery drills periodically. If something ever goes wrong, our 24/7 support team leads the restore with you.
Your backups hold personal information too. Protect them that way.
Every backup of your files, mailboxes and databases contains the same client and employee data as your live systems. Under Québec’s Law 25, that data still needs protecting when it sits in a backup. Nexxo configures Veeam so your backups support your obligations: copies are encrypted, retention periods are set so data is not kept longer than needed, and storage locations are chosen deliberately. Where possible, we keep copies in Canadian data centres, which simplifies the assessment required before personal information is transferred outside Québec. When a restore or an incident happens, we document it, which helps you keep your confidentiality incident register up to date.
- Encrypted backup copiesBackups are encrypted, so a stolen drive or a compromised storage account does not expose your clients’ personal information.
- Defined retention periodsWe set how long each type of backup is kept, so old personal information is removed on schedule instead of piling up forever.
- Canadian storage locationsWe favour storage in Canada for your off-site copies, so you know where your data lives and transfers outside Québec stay limited.
- Documented restores and incidentsEach significant restore and incident is recorded, giving your person in charge of personal information a clear trail to work from.

Contact Us →What is the 3-2-1 backup rule, and what does 3-2-1-1-0 add?
The 3-2-1 rule means keeping 3 copies of your data, on 2 different types of storage, with 1 copy off-site. It protects you from a single failure, fire or theft. The 3-2-1-1-0 version adds two things: 1 copy that is immutable or offline, so ransomware cannot encrypt or delete it, and 0 errors, meaning backups are verified to restore correctly. Nexxo builds your Veeam setup around 3-2-1-1-0.
Do we need to back up Microsoft 365 if our data is already in the cloud?
Yes. Microsoft keeps the service available, but under its shared responsibility model, protecting your data from accidental deletion, departing employees, misconfigurations and attacks is up to you. Built-in recycle bins and retention features help, but they are limited and not designed as a full backup. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 keeps a separate copy of your Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams data that you control and can restore on your own schedule.
What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?
A backup is a copy of your data. Disaster recovery is the plan and the tools that get your business running again after a serious event, such as ransomware or a failed server. It answers which systems come back first, where they run and who does what. Many businesses have backups but no tested plan. Nexxo provides both: managed Veeam backups and a documented recovery plan that we drill with you.
How much data could we lose, and how long would we be down?
That depends on choices we make together. The first is how much recent work you could afford to lose, which sets how often backups run. The second is how long you could stay down, which shapes how and where systems are restored. Tighter targets need more frequent backups and faster recovery options. During the assessment, we help you set realistic targets for each system and design your Veeam setup to meet them.
Can ransomware encrypt or delete our Veeam backups?
Ransomware attackers do try to destroy backups before they strike. That is why we keep at least one immutable copy that cannot be changed or deleted for a set period, even by an account with administrator rights, and keep backup systems separated from your everyday network and accounts. Combined with an off-site copy and restore testing, this gives you a clean copy to recover from. No setup removes all risk, but it greatly improves your odds.
What affects the cost of managed backup and disaster recovery?
The main factors are the number of servers, virtual machines, workstations and Microsoft 365 users to protect, the amount of data, how long backups must be kept, how quickly you need to recover and where off-site copies are stored. The level of recovery planning and how often drills are run also play a part. After an assessment, we give you a clear proposal based on your actual environment rather than a generic package.
We already have backups in place. Can Nexxo take them over or switch us to Veeam?
Yes. We start by reviewing what you have today: what is backed up, where copies go, whether restores have been tested and what is missing. If your current setup can be improved, we tell you how. If moving to Veeam makes sense, we plan the switch so you stay protected throughout, keeping your existing backups available until the new Veeam backups are running and verified.
Who helps us if we need to restore data in the middle of the night?
Nexxo offers 24/7 support. If a server fails, ransomware strikes or important files disappear, you call our team and we lead the recovery with you, following the plan we documented together. For smaller requests, such as restoring a deleted file or a mailbox folder, just contact our support team and we handle it.
